Spotz’ self-portrait.

Our elementary school got a new art teacher this year, and she’s awesome.  She lets the kids call her Ms. Cockroach, she organized a school-wide art show, and she’s actually teaching them different art techniques.

Spotz brought this self-portrait home a couple of days ago.  I just love it.  Ms. Cockroach helped him on the eyes a little bit, but the rest is all from 7 year-old Spotz.

BTW, congratulations to Spotz, who won the Hard Worker of the Year award for his 1st grade class.  Woot!

    Yeah, this one blows me away. I amazed. Those kids are actually learning about art fundamentals.

    That’s a great pic. I can’t believe he’s only in 1st grade! It’s funny, a lot of our friends from Knoxville tease us about our high property taxes in OR (emphasizing that they think it’s weird we pay for them even though we don’t have kids). I know a lot of money goes back to the school system, so even though we only have furry kids I LIKE where my money is going :) Stay cool this weekend. Oh, Eaves, the last time I saw you you mentioned Nessie’s teeth - I would be happy to stop by your place (gives me a good excuse to see the new house) and take a peak at her if you would like me too. Just ask AT for our #.
